Paediatric First Aid

 Paediatric First Aid - 12 hours tuition, 2 days

This regulated course is designed for those who live or work with children. It meets the Ofsted early years and childcare register requirements, for working with children under 5. 

Course contents includes:

• Unconsciousness
• CPR (Child and Infant)
• Choking
• Wounds and bleeding
• Bone, joint and muscle injuries
• Diabetes
• Asthma
• Anaphylaxis
• Meningitis
• Febrile convulsions
• Burns
• Poisons
• Minor injuries
• Head injuries
• Shock
• Embedded objects (ears, nose)
• Imbalance of heat

Assessment: Learners must complete multiple choice question papers, and must also demonstrate practical skills including CPR, Recovery position, and treatment of injured casualties. Successful completion of both theory and practical assessments will lead to a Paediatric First Aid  certificate valid for 3 years
